New Erasmus+ project: For the first time in preschool

We are very happy that another project focused on the quality of Early Childhood Education and Care was approved by the Czech National Agency of Erasmus+. The project called “Poprvé do školky” (English name: For the first time in preschool: adaptation phase for children up to 3 years old) will start in September under the coordination of the Kids Company Preschool Prague.

The aim of the project is to increase the quality of preschool care for children under the age of three by the exchange of experience among foreign partners, through educational activities for teachers and managers of nursery schools involved, and throug creating information materials for kindergartens and for parents of children under the age of three.

Thematically the project deals with adaptive processes in pre-school facilities and with the means of cooperation with parents of the smallest children in this area and also with bilingual pre-school education. The partners of the project are the project coordinator, the Kids Company kIndergarten from Prague, the German foundation Von Laer Stiftung and the Danish organization Deutsche Kindergärten Sonderburg (DKS).

During the project there will be three project meetings, attended by managers of the kindergartens and three one week joint staff training events – job shadowing activities attended by teachers from the partnering kindergartens. From this joint learning activities, reports will be created which will be used as inspiration materials for teachers in the Czech Republic, Denmark and Germany. A total of 18 kindergarden managers and 18 teachers will directly participate in the project activities. Based on the exchange of  experience, the partners will also create an information material on appropriate approaches to child adaptation to pre-school facilities in two variants – one designed for parents and one designed for other kindergardens which are not partners in the project.

The project language is German, but outputs will also be written in Czech, Danish and English. The ProChil project as well as the Moje dětská skupina group and Czech Asociation of Childgroup Providers are proud dissemination partners.
